Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What horses need massaged?
A: I don't know that I have ever put my hands on a horse that couldn't
benefit from a massage. We don't have to wait for a huge problem to
massage. Remember an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
Q: My horse hardly ever gets ridden, why
would he need a massage?
A: If a horse isn't in shape and conditioned and you go out and ride him
or use him for any period of tome, his muscles are going to get sore
just like yours would.
Q: My horse was sore, so I turned him out
for a few months, why is he sore again?
A: Many times when a horse has a sore muscle and is just turned out,
they learn how to compensate to reduce the pain. When we don't see
them moving as if they are in pain, we bring them in and use them.
The problem is still there, they have just learned how to get around
they pain and when we ask them to perform, they have to use that already
hurting muscle and the old issue shows up again pretty quickly.
Q: How often does my horse need a massage?
A: It depends on your horse and the job he does. Most people know
their horses, so when their is an odd behavior that shows up or
progressively gets worse, often times they are trying to tell you they
hurt.
